Not just beer – a true taste story.
Emek Hefer, the Alexander River, August 2008. While the Israeli sun scorched the earth, a small idea was born – one that turned into something big: Alexander Brewery.
The goal? To craft excellent Israeli beer.
But wait – not just good beer. We're talking world-class, boutique-level beer you'd expect to find in the heart of Bavaria – only this one is brewed right here in Emek Hefer.
Because that’s how we like it.
Fresh, local, and free from long voyages across the sea. Beer that arrives as it should – straight from the source, no passport required. With every sip, you’re drinking something that represents your roots.
The magic of real beer starts with top-tier ingredients.
We don’t compromise – premium malt, hops, and yeast flown in from Europe, and Israeli water that goes through a full reverse osmosis treatment (yes, it’s as fancy as it sounds).
No filtration. No pasteurization. Because flavor should come straight from the heart.
It’s not about quantity. It’s about quality.
Every beer that leaves our brewery is the result of meticulous care. No shortcuts, no exceptions. We don’t rest until every sip is just right – because to us, beer is a celebration of flavor.
So if you’re looking for a beer that’s proudly Israeli but pays full respect to European tradition – Alexander is for you. A beer that lives, breathes, and flows – just like the good life.
How fighter pilots, whiskey lovers, and restaurateurs ended up by the Alexander River.
This story begins – how else? – with one man who’s got the nerve of a pilot, the nose of a sommelier, and the palate of a 70-year-old German brewmaster.
His name is Ori Sagy.
He used to fly F-16s for the Israeli Air Force. These days, he’s flying high on hops.
Not just cracking open bottles
but flying across the globe to find out what really makes a great beer.
When you study brewing in Chicago (yep, at the Siebel Institute) and graduate with a certification worthy of a hop-fueled James Bond – you don’t just drink beer. You speak its language.
What began as a home-brewing hobby in small batches turned into a full-blown career in 2008: a vision with foam.
Ori didn’t just brew the beer – he designed it, refined it, gave it a name, a flavor, and a soul. And he’s still at it, like a kid in a toy store – only this one’s filled with malt, hops, and yeast.
But even a pilot needs a co-pilot – and Ori was joined by three others who share a deep love for quality:
Aviam Sela, also an air force veteran – though these days, he prefers diving into a bottle of single malt whiskey and surfacing with life insights.
And Yoram and Ari Yerzin – iconic Israeli restaurateurs who don’t just chase trends, they chase quality. The kind of people who care more about what’s on the plate (and in the glass) than what’s on the bill.
And then there’s the beating heart of the brewery:
41 people – in production, packaging, and office roles – each adding their own layer of flavor to every beer you drink.
No one here just “works in beer.” They live it.
So next time you crack open a bottle of Alexander – know this:
You’re not just drinking beer. You’re drinking a story. With wings.Alexander Beer
What happens when Germans and Israelis team up on a beer production line?
The home of Alexander Beer sits in the heart of the Emek Hefer industrial park – not your typical sleepy zone with the scent of sunbaked asphalt, but a place that takes "green industry" seriously… seriously enough to drink.
Inside this building beats a high-tech heart of steel and plastic, pumping life into the beer you love.
This isn’t some dusty old boiler with a lid – this is boutique-brewery technology at its finest.
At the center of it all is the brew house, flown in straight from Germany’s own Braukon – a company that doesn’t just build beer equipment, it crafts engineering masterpieces that would bring a tear to any meticulous German eye.
And the fermentation tanks? Blue-and-white made in Israel.
Custom-built for us by MEGAT, tailored like a fine suit – only instead of buttons, we’ve got yeast.
Bottling? That’s handled with the respect of a fine French wine, courtesy of a MARKL bottling machine from Germany – because for us, taste matters, but so does the way beer enters the bottle. It's about dignity.
And to finish with style – the labels are applied by GERNEP, also from Germany. What can we say? When it comes to tagging, they’re almost as good as they are at driving on the autobahn.
The result? A beer made with cutting-edge technology, but the soul of a family-run brewery.
No compromises on freshness, quality, or flavor – not even for a second.
Bottom line? When the machines are running – the heart runs with them.
